Laura Kelly Fanucci is an award-winning author, a monthly columnist for OSV News Service, a devotional writer for (in)courage and Give Us This Day, and a regular contributor to publications including America Magazine and U.S. Catholic.
Laura has authored many books, including Everyday Sacrament: The Messy Grace of Parenting (Liturgical Press, 2014) and Grieving Together: A Couple's Journey through Miscarriage (OSV, 2018). Her latest book is forthcoming from Ave Maria Press in early 2026.
Since the death of her twin daughters after their premature birth in 2016, Laura has written in depth on grief and suffering in the light of faith. She recently recorded a 30-day grief devotional for Hallow, the #1 prayer app, and her work for parents has appeared on the Ritual app.
After her pandemic poem “When This Is Over” went viral in March 2020, appearing on NPR’s Morning Edition and The Kelly Clarkson Show, Laura has frequently published poetry on social media, inviting her followers to write their own.
She writes two bestselling Substacks: The Holy Labor on spirituality and everyday life and The Compassion Brigade, a half-humorous, half-theological reflection on surviving breast cancer in her early 40s.
Laura earned her B.A. from the University of Notre Dame and her Master of Divinity from Saint John's School of Theology and Seminary in Collegeville, MN, where she spent over a decade working on theological initiatives on vocation with the Collegeville Institute.
She received the Sister Mary Anthony Wagner Award from Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary in 2024 and is honored to serve on the Board of Directors for Ave Maria Press.
Laura lives in Minnesota with her husband and their five sons.
